Returns & Cancellations

When you buy Alfred hardware from us at a distance (online), you have a legal right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. This page sets out that right, how to use it, and what happens when you do. It sits alongside the change-of-mind and warranty terms in our Terms of Service. Where those give you more than the law requires, the more generous term applies.

Your right to cancel

You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The cancellation period ends 14 days from the day you (or someone you nominate, other than the carrier) receive the goods.

How to cancel

To exercise the right to cancel, tell us clearly that you have decided to cancel, for example by a plain email. You can use the model cancellation form below, but you don't have to. To meet the deadline, it's enough to send your cancellation before the 14-day period ends.

Effects of cancellation

If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse all payments received from you for the goods. We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you beyond what is needed to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the goods.

We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day we receive the goods back from you, or (if earlier) 14 days after the day you provide evidence that you have returned the goods. We will reimburse using the same means of payment you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement.

You must send the goods back without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day you tell us you are cancelling. As set out in our Terms, we cover the cost of return postage. Email us and we will arrange it.

Faulty hardware and your other rights

The right to cancel above is separate from your rights if something is wrong with the hardware. Every Alfred is covered by a warranty, and your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected. See Terms of Service for the warranty and change-of-mind terms.
